Sexual Abuse & Inappropriate Sexual Behavior
Sexual behavior rules, personal space and boundaries, maltreatment, self-disclosure, sexual education, empathy, good touch and bad touch, thinking errors, prevention plan, impulse control techniques and event sequencing are a few of the interventions used to address sexual abuse and other inappropriate sexual behaviors.
Predisposing risk factors include maltreatment experiences, lack of empathy, insufficient social skills, gender identity and low self esteem. Precipitating risk factors include poor emotional regulation, thinking errors, low impulse control and poor use of conflict resolution skills.
Perpetrating risk factors include lack of supervision, lack of appropriate sexual education and displacement of responsibility.
